My journey

My journey to Haiti actually started a couple of months ago. I heard some rumblings of a group of woman going to Haiti. I knew nothing about the trip other than one person I knew was going. I had for a while felt a longing to do a missions trip. It just never seemed the right time or for the right reasons. So, after talking to Lorna, I prayed and talked to my family. For the first time things just seemed to fall into place.

This is a different type of missions trip then I have heard of. This isn't just us going and working in the orphanage or the clinic. We will be bringing a Woman’s Conference to the women of Haiti. Our desire is to encourage, uplift, challenge and teach the Haitian woman more about who God is, His desire for our lives and the tools to walk this journey with intention. Along with that we will be teaching the woman fundamental tools on how to be better mothers, and instructing them on good hygiene, health care and economics. This conference and trip isn't about immediate fixes. It is about raising people up, and teaching them the skills to be self-sufficient.

I'm so excited to go to Haiti and minister to the woman. I know this trip will be a life changing time for the woman of Haiti as well as for myself. My belief is if I go to Haiti and come back the same person as when I left I've not learned anything. I look forward to allowing God to work in me and through me.

John 15:4 -5
"Remain in me, and I will remain in you. Just as the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it remains in the vine, so neither can you unless you remain in me. I am the vine; you are the branches. The one who remains in me – and I in him – bears much fruit, because apart from me you can accomplish nothing."

My big prayer this week is that the money comes in for all of us to go so that we can focus on the money it will take to bring the Haitian woman to the conference.

If you are interested in donating to the missions trip let me know and I can give you more information.
